It was one of Bill’s earliest childhood memories in Clearwater, Kansas that shaped his love for custom home construction. At age 3, he was handed a hammer and taught to pull nails from salvaged lumber which became part of the family home.
The memory laid the foundation for an interest that progressed towards skill while he worked for a remodeler and general contractor in Puyallup, Washington every summer during high school and college. After graduating from college with a business degree, he worked as a job foreman in Gresham, Oregon before starting his own construction company in 1980.
As the years went by, Shaffer Construction became Shaffer, Inc. and Bill’s expertise has positively left its mark on Clark County homeowners with custom home construction, kitchen and bathroom remodels and a wide variety of excavation projects that Shaffer, Inc provides.
Bill enjoys gardening, photography, hiking and church & family activities. Each summer, he contributes his leadership, muscle and encouragement to Club Quest, a house building effort to the underserved in El Zorillo, Mexico.
